Joachim Morrens

Joachim Morrens is Head of Medical Excellence and Operations Germany (RWE) at AbbVie, where he supports the advancement of real-world evidence capabilities and evidence generation across Medical Affairs. With around eight years of pharmaceutical industry experience and a strong background in statistics and research methodologies, he specialises in translating real-world data into scientifically robust evidence to support decision-making.

Prior to his current role, Joachim held European and international RWE leadership positions at AbbVie, supporting affiliates with evidence generation strategies, research concepts and protocols, secondary RWD, and innovative research methodologies. He has also led evidence gap assessments, cross-functional evidence planning, and non-interventional research at affiliate level. Joachim is passionate about strengthening methodological capabilities and enabling the effective use of RWD to address evidence gaps across medical affairs and market access.
